R.I.P.
SCOTT CLARK, one of my good friends. I'm almost at lost for words to
hear of his death. He was still young at his time of passing. My first
memories of Scott was when I first walked into the old Image studio
straight from college. Along with Brett Booth, Sean Ruffner, Jeff
Campbell, Trevor Scott, Nick Manabat, Joe Benitez, Sandra Hope, Sal
Regla, Dan Norton, Travis Charest, Whilce Portacio, Mark Silverti, JD,
Scott Williams and Jim Lee(plus others)... Scott Clark was one of the
artist sitting in the artist pit drawing away. I was thinking. Oh man!
thats the artist on Storm Watch!! I remember standing over his shoulder
to watch him draw pages. I was in awe just to see it in person. Then
when the opportunity came to me to do fill-ins after him on Storm
Watch#9, I was shaking in my boots. Thinking, "Oh man Scott is going to
laugh at my art." But he didn't. He would come over and encourage me
when I needed it the most. We all used to go to the
Denny's right next to the studio to eat. Sometimes we would go out
further to eat lunch and I would ride with Scott in his sports car. He
and Sal always tried to race each other. He always used to wear a tank
top which bewildered me because I just moved in from Miami, and I
thought it was freezing cold. All those super bowl bbq party's at his
house, hanging on the court playing b-ball and kicking it at the studio
till 3 or 4am, will always stick somewhere in my head.
I often
think about what are we doing here. What's our purpose on this planet. I
remember when I was in the first grade, I asked my mother, why did God
make me? She replied, "Ask him when you see him." As I got older I
realized it's one of those questions, you most likely are going to start
your answer with, "Maybe Im here to...(fill in the blank)". It's a
thinker. We all were part of that Image Comics team. That team is my
family. I lost a brother this week.
Scott, You were there for me way back when I was a rookie. You inspired me to be a comic book artist. Im going to miss you bro.
Stop and take time from your busy life to smell the roses and tell the people closest to you how much you they mean to you.

No es necesario decir más.
Scott Clark, descanse en paz.
